Ruby Valley Trek, Latest wilderness trekking of Nepal which leads us to unbelievable part of Ganesh himal is Ruby valley trekking. While doing this trek we need to walk between between two mountains i.e. Manasalu and Langtang. But it is regarded as the part of Langtang trekking region. We can have close view of sky touching and golden dawn mountains such as Manaslu Himal, Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal. Another main theme of this trekking is soaring waterfall Ganga and Jamuna which is very popular. Besides this the natural beauty all around us will be so much impressive in our whole trekking. We will start Ruby Valley Trek from Syabrubesi. Gatlang, Somdang, Tipling etc are some of the villages which we will pass in our trek. Our track goes through beautiful dense forests. Most of our way is unexplored. The people in these villages are very friendly with hospitality nature. This behavior will be so impressive. We will be so familiar with the people during this trek. Although this place lies in remote area, we will be surprised with the facilities given in place. From Dhading besi we will drive back to Kathmandu which will end our memorable trek. March, April, May, September, October, November, and December are the most favorable months to do trekking in the route of Ruby valley. The Flight is Some time not sure. because of the reason is Weathers, if Political Problem makes strick for roadblock and bad weather make flight cancel and take Helicopter charter or Jeep reserved to Pokhara. and Also if you need to extend your trip that all that cost will be Extra. Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu
After landing flight at TIA, representative of Adventure Mountain Guide will warmly receive you. We will move towards the hotel. We will enjoy delicious dinner at night. After dinner we will give brief description of the program to Ruby Valley trekking.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1462m) – 8 Hours
Early morning we will have breakfast and take a drive to Syabrubesi for about 5 to 6 hours. The panoramic view of the roadside houses and forest will be very enjoyable. In Syabrubesi spectacular places around the valley will be very interesting. The night will be at one of the best hotel at Syabrubesi.
Day 03: Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2200m) – 5 Hours
From Syabrubesi, we will walk toward Gatlang. Our journey pass through the forest of pine, juniper and many more species of trees are the amazing things in this place. We will climb until and unless we reach summit deurali and Gatlang. Our night will be interesting at Gatlang.
Day 04: Gatlang to Somdang
Gatlang village is biggest Tamang village of that region. From Gatlang, we will descend towards Yuri Kharka and then to Somdang through the terraced farming area. Our path goes through pine and bamboo forest. We will continue until we will reach to Somdang. Our trek of today will be for about 6 to 7 hours.
Day 05: Somdang to Tipling
Early morning we will walk to Pangsang Kharka from where we can view the beautiful and panoramic scene. The soaring peaks of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal to the north will be so much impressive. Then we descend to the Tipling village. Tamang community people are the main ethnic group.
Day 06: Tipling to Chalish
We will descend to cross the Adha Khola to reach Shertung and Chalish. The Shertung village (inhabited of Tamang people) is very beautiful. Shortly we will visit sertung vilage. Chalish is a Gurung community village where Ghale and Kami people also stay. The hospitable nature of people will so much impressive. We will stay night at Chalish.
Day 07: Chalish to Darkha Gaon
After having breakfast we will continue our walk to darkha Gaun. The path of Borang village and till Percho will be our main trekking trial. We will be impressed with the beauty of nature all around us. The whole trekking goes for about 7 to 8 hours. After reaching Darkha Gaon we will rest for some time and visit Darkha gaon.
Day 08: Darkha Gaun to Kathmandu
From Darkha Gaon we will catch a bus to Kathmandu. We will certainly enjoy the beautiful villages. On the way we can see many beautiful things all around us. We can have an experience of humpty dumpty road also. After reaching Kathmandu we will spend our leisure time on visiting thamel area.
Day 09: Farewell
After having a night rest at Kathmandu, we will pack our luggage to march ourselves towards the international airport of Nepal. We have to reach at airport 3 hours before the flight. We will attend a small farewell program organized by Adventure Mountain Guide After then we will catch the flight to return back to the home country. We hope, while returning back to home country you will think for a re visit to Nepal. We hope for your better journey.
This is my second trip with Rabin and I am already looking forward to a third trip with him soon. That show how much I value his services, his extensive experiences with the treks, his honesty and of course, the great supporting staffs he have. With more than 20 years of trekking experiences, he gave good advises on the route and safety measures to take. For example, he insisted that we started off early on a particular day so that we will reach a section with ice-sheet before the ice started to melt and traversing the ice-sheet becomes dangerous and difficult. We have a large team of porters and assistant guides to take care of our team of 12 hikers and everyone on Rabin's team have been extremely helpful and friendly. My teenage son enjoyed playing Uno and sliding down the ABC icy slope with a teenage porter, a fellow hiker who has walking difficulties was supported all the way by assistant guides and porters and our meals were all ordered in advance so the group don't have to wait long for food to be served.
If you feel tl;dr, please skip to the last line. My name is Patibut Preeyawongsakul. I have been trekking since 2012. I do either individual trekking or going with mountain guide. I was with Rabin on Annapurna Trekking in Dec 2015. Not only on the mountains, but also roaming around in the city. I was with him for totally 15 days. By 4 years of my trekking around Asia (and a little hiking in US), Rabin is the best mountain guide so far. Rabin knows how to take care any kind of trekkers from slow ladies to teenagers. Luckily we didn't need his first aid kit which he always carry it in his backpack. He's expert in almost mountains' information in Nepal (including sometimes Tibet). He can calculate trip's timing very precisely.
We could change itinerary on the way we walk without affecting flight schedule (we had one more day on the base camp last time.) Though, His skill still not matches his humbleness and hospitality. I had been seriously discussing with him for 6 months with nothing guarantee I'd go with him, but he happily helped me decide which route to take. He frankly showed the cost breakdown before we make final decision. He welcomed us at the airport, and all of my team had his souvenirs on the day we flew back to our home country.
